Alta River Camping
Was started by Hildur and Alf jenssen in 1968.
In the beginning the camping ground consisted of 3 rooms in addition to the main house and with space for caravans and tents.
Alf Jenssen was a dedicated angler and an outdoor person and had for many years seen the need for a camping ground by the Alta river. The camping tourists that were visiting Alta, usually camped near Alta river with it`s beautiful scenery.
Little by little the first cabins were raised solely by private funds and knowledge of carpeting.
Today Alta River Camping stands out as a very modern three/four stars campground with high standards and very good comfort -Any closer to the Alta river will be hard to come. That the Dutch Automobile association (ANWB) and the Belgian ACSI has chosen Alta River Camping as their representative among Alta`s seven camping grounds is quite an Achievement. Of the tourists is an Swedish family a living example, of. Since 1968 the family Lindstrøm has spend their vacation on Alta River Camping in 24 out of 25 years.
In 1986 Alta River Camping was taken over by Anna Synnøve and Inge Karl Jenssen.
Hildur and Alf build them self a new house in central Alta and a summer cabin at Alta River Camping.
